Two Palestinian women isolated maltreated in Damon jail

Thursday 11-February-2021

Two Palestinian women are being held under extremely harsh conditions inside an isolation cell in Damon jail.

The prisoners Fadwa Hamada and Nawal Fatiha are being detained in a miserable isolation cell watched with security cameras barred from spending some time outside the cell and deprived of many basic needs and rights according to the Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs.

They are also exposed to maltreatment at the hands of Israeli jailers and their hands and legs are shackled when they are allowed to see the lawyer.

Fadwa Hamada 34 has been in jail since 2017 serving a 10-year sentence. Nawal Fatiha has been on remand since February 21 2020. Both of them are from Occupied Jerusalem.
