The Israeli occupation army on Sunday notified the local authority in Umm Qussa hamlet in Masafer Yatta of its intent to demolish its school and a Mosque under construction soon.

Local official Fuaad al-Ammour said that Israeli soldiers stormed Umm Qussa hamlet which part of the Bedouin community of Umm al-Daraj and delivered ultimatums threatening to remove an elementary school and an unfinished mosque.

Principal of the school Yousef al-Basaita said that 50 boys and girls attend the school which is one of several schools opened by the Palestinian ministry of education in Masafer Yatta area adding that the school serves three hamlets Umm Qussa al-Abbadiya and al-Sarj

In another incident the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on the same day stormed al-Maleh area in the northern Jordan Valley and photographed al-Tahadi School using a drone as a prelude to demolishing it.

Last December the Israeli army notified local officials of its intent to raze the school.

Meanwhile a horde of Jewish settlers continued to seize and fence more tracts of land in Ahmeer hamlet in the northern Jordan Valley.

In recent months settlers targeted Ahmeer hamlets through grabbing lands placing mobile structures and planting trees.
