The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) violently attacked a peaceful march against Israeli settlement activity in the west of Salfit city north of the West Bank on Thursday.
According to local sources Israeli soldiers showered the participants in the march with volleys of tear gas canisters. Some of the participants were treated for suffocation as a result of inhaling the tear gas.
The IOF also physically assaulted some protesters and journalists during the events.
The march was staged by local residents after the Israeli occupation authority started in recent days to bulldoze about 50 dunums of Palestinian-owned land in the areas of al-Ras and al-Mahajer in western Salfit as a prelude to building an outpost for Jewish settlers.
