The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Saturday ordered residents of several Palestinian hamlets in the northern Jordan Valley to evacuate their homes at the pretext of their intent to carry out military drills in their areas.
Local activist Aref Daraghmeh said that many families living in the areas of al-Burj and al-Mayta were ordered to leave their areas ahead of Israeli military exercises slated for next week.
Daraghmeh added that other families in different areas of the Jordan Valley where large-scale drills will take place soon also received similar evacuation orders.
Incessant military training in the northern Jordan Valley is part of Israel’s longstanding policy aimed at making living conditions in Palestinian communities unbearable and forcing the local residents out of their areas.
