Mass protests in Palestinian areas against Israel-UAE deal

Thousands of Palestinians on Friday took to the streets in the West Bank Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip to voice their rejection of the new peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The angry protesters chanted slogans and raised banners condemning the deal denouncing the UAE’s “shameful move” and stressing that “normalization is treason”.

The Palestinian demonstrators expressed their complete rejection of the deal which recognizes Israel and harms the rights of the Palestinian people.

The Palestinian Information Center’s reporter said that hundreds roamed the streets of Gaza in protest at the UAE’s decision to normalize relations with Israel and accused it of harming the Palestinian people while claiming to serve them.

In the West Bank Israeli occupation forces met the Palestinian marchers with rubber-coated metal bullets tear gas canisters and stun grenades injuring a number of them.

Meanwhile in Jerusalem the Israeli police broke into al-Aqsa Mosque and violently dispersed the Palestinian worshipers who marched inside to express their rejection of the Israel-UAE agreement.

The US president Donald Trump on Thursday announced that an agreement had been reached between Israel and the UAE to fully normalize relations.

According to Trump the deal would lead to greater cooperation on investment tourism security technology energy and other areas.
