Dozens injured as IOF quells anti-settlement West Bank protests

Dozens of Palestinian citizens were wounded on Friday afternoon when Israeli occupation forces (IOF) violently dispersed several anti-settlement demonstrations in the West Bank.

In Nablus scores of Palestinians took to the streets for the second Friday in a row to protest against a new settler outpost in Asira al-Shamaliya village.

Eyewitnesses said that the IOF attacked the peaceful protesters with tear gas canisters and stun grenades injuring a number of them and burning nearby farmlands.

The IOF further fired stun grenades at the press crews who were present there preventing them from covering the protest.

In Qalqilya dozens of Palestinians choked on tear gas when the IOF quelled the weekly demonstration against the separation wall and settlement in Kafr Qaddum village.

Activist Murad Shtewi reported that the injured protesters were treated in the field.

Meanwhile in Salfit the IOF attacked a third demonstration in Kifl Hares village and prevented Palestinian citizens from marching on their lands which are threatened with confiscation in favor of settlement construction.

The demonstrators were met with rubber-coated metal bullets tear gas canisters and stun grenades. A number of them were injured but no serious cases were reported.
