Dozens of Israeli settlers break into al-Aqsa Mosque

Scores of Israeli settlers on Sunday forced their way into al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem under police escort.

Local sources said that 87 Jewish settlers including 30 students from religious institutes broke into al-Aqsa Mosque in the early morning while accompanied by a large police force.

They reported that as the settlers stormed the eastern side of the Mosque Israeli police forced Muslim worshipers out of the site.

On Saturday evening a group of Israeli settlers rallied at Bab al-Asbat one of al-Aqsa Mosque’s gates.

Armed forces accompanied the settlers and provided protection to them as they perofmed Talmudic rituals and performed provocative dances.

Recently police-backed settler raids on al-Aqsa Mosque have been on the rise amid warnings that a complete takeover of the eastern area of the site is being planned.

Hordes of Israeli settlers on Sunday forced their way into al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem under police guard.

Local sources said that 79 Jewish settlers and 45 Israeli intelligence officers broke into al-Aqsa Mosque and roamed its courtyards.

Israeli settlers carry out daily break-ins into al-Aqsa Mosque except on Fridays and Saturdays in two rounds: in the morning and afternoon.

Scores of Israeli settlers on Tuesday stormed al-Aqsa Mosque under heavy police guard.

Local sources said that 80 Jewish settlers in several groups forced their way into al-Aqsa Mosque through al-Maghareba Gate.

They added that the settlers roamed al-Aqsa courtyards and performed Talmudic rituals inside the Islamic compound.

Meanwhile restrictions were tightened on the Palestinian worshipers entering the site for prayer.

Hordes of Israeli settlers and intelligence officers on Wednesday morning forced their way into al-Aqsa Mosque under heavy police guard.

Spokesman for the Islamic Awqaf Feras al-Dibs said that 86 Jewish settlers including 20 students from religious institutes stormed al-Aqsa Mosque in consecutive groups and roamed its courtyards.

Al-Dibs added that 22 Israeli intelligence officers were present in the site during the break-in.

Meanwhile restrictions were tightened on the Palestinian worshipers entering the holy mosque.

Dozens of Israeli settlers break into al-Aqsa Mosque

Dozens of Israeli settlers defiled al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday morning amid heavy police presence.

Quds Press reported that 57 settlers escorted by a large number of Israeli policemen entered the Mosque through al-Maghareba Gate.

The news agency said that the settlers roamed the courtyards of al-Aqsa Mosque performed Talmudic rituals and received presentations on the history of the alleged “Temple Mount”.

The Israeli police have recently tightened the restrictions imposed on the Palestinians visiting al-Aqsa Mosque especially in the morning hours. The police usually confiscate their IDs to make sure they do not stay in the Mosque for a long time and arrest those who confront settlers’ provocative break-ins.

More settlers are expected to visit al-Asa Mosque later in the day since the Israeli police have allowed another round of incursions in the afternoon.
