Father Atallah Hanna Archbishop of the Palestinian Orthodox Church in Occupied Jerusalem on Saturday called for joint national action to thwart Israel’s annexation project in the occupied West Bank and all conspiracies aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause.
Hanna said that statements and speeches “are not enough” to confront the “deal of the century” and Israel’s threats to annex the Jordan Valley and a large part of the West Bank.
“We need to put our political disagreements aside and end the internal division to be able to defend our just cause” he stressed.
Hanna continued “The Palestinians need national unity now more than ever.”
He warned that Israel is taking advantage of the current coronavirus crisis to solidify its power and expand its apartheid regime in the occupied Palestinian territories. “We are in a very dangerous stage” he added.
He expressed his hope that those in power will be able to inaugurate a new phase of joint national action to face Israeli settlement expansion projects and make the right decisions before it is too late.
