A number of Palestinian citizens were wounded on Friday when Israeli occupation forces (IOF) violently quelled the weekly demonstration in Kafr Qaddum village in the West Bank district of Qalqilya.
Local sources reported that the IOF stormed Kafr Qaddum and attacked the peaceful demonstrators with live ammunition rubber-coated metal bullets tear gas canisters and stun grenades.
A number of protesters choked on tear gas and suffered minor injuries that were treated in the field activist Murad Shtewi said.
The residents of Kafr Qaddum every Friday take to the streets to protest Israel’s ongoing settlement expansion on their lands and call for opening the village’s main road which has been closed for 16 years.
