Israeli occupation police on Friday morning closed most of al-Aqsa Mosque’s doors to Palestinian worshipers.
Local sources said that only three gates remained open: Hitta al-Majles and al-Silsila.
Israeli police claimed the closure came as a precaution against the spread of coronavirus.
Jerusalemite activists confirmed that the new Israeli measures are mainly aimed at limiting the number of Palestinian worshipers at al-Aqsa Mosque by taking advantage of the current health crisis.
They explained that the closure does not include the gates which Israeli settlers use during their daily raids into al-Aqsa Mosque.
