The Israeli occupation police on Wednesday informed Sheikh Najeh Bakirat deputy director of the Islamic Awqaf in Jerusalem and head of al-Aqsa Academy for Science and Heritage that he would not be allowed to enter the Aqsa Mosque for one week.
The Israeli police did not provide a reason for its decision to ban his entry. They already imposed a similar entry ban on Sheikh Bakirat 22 times before.
Jerusalemite sources said that Sheikh Bakirat received the police order after he was questioned about his presence inside the Aqsa Mosque at al-Qishla detention center in the holy city.
The police also asked him to come back again next Tuesday for further interrogation.
