Wednesday 12-February-2020

The Israeli occupation army on Tuesday stormed Humsa at-Tahta hamlet in the northern Jordan Valley and delivered stop-work orders on housing and livestock structures.

Local official Aref Daraghmeh said that employees from the Israeli army’s civil administration escorted by soldiers served notices ordering a local resident to stop building four structures to be used for housing and storing purposes.

Mohamed Bisharat the owner of these structures had been ordered a month ago to remove other structures in the area at the pretext they were located on an archeological site.

In addition to their suffering from settlement expansion and land grab activities and their frequent expulsion from their homes for long hours or days at the pretext of carrying out military drills in their areas the local residents in the northern Jordan Valley are exposed to different harassment practices at the hands of Israeli soldiers and settlers to force them to leave the region.
