The Supreme National Emergency Committee of the National Captive Movement has announced the establishment of a committee for administrative detainees in Israeli jails in rejection of the administrative detention policy.
In a press statement on Sunday the Emergency Committee said that forming a committee for administrative detainees comes as a prelude to escalating the detainees’ protest steps and starting a full-scale hunger strike.
“Forming the committee aims at supporting all Palestinian hunger-striking administrative detainees” the Committee underlined pointing out that the number of administrative detainees reached 1083.
The Committee urged all human rights organizations at home and abroad to assume their responsibility and support Palestinian administrative detainees in their struggle against the Israeli occupation’s oppressive practices against them.
It also called on the Palestinian people to launch solidarity campaigns in support of cancer-stricken prisoner Walid Daqqa whose health condition is deteriorating.
