The Israeli occupation police at dawn Saturday raided the house of Sheikh Ekrima Sabri a noted Jerusalemite religious figure and Aqsa Mosque Imam and handed him a written order banning his entry to the Aqsa Mosque for four months.
The police also ordered him to come to al-Qishla station in the holy city on Sunday morning for interrogation.
Sheikh Sabri received the new entry ban after he defied last Friday a previous entry ban and entered the Aqsa Mosque for Friday prayers over the shoulders of fellow citizens.
The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) and its police in Jerusalem give themselves the right to issue such Aqsa entry ban against Muslim worshipers and take upon themselves to decide who can and cannot pray at the Mosque despite the fact that they have no jurisdiction over the Islamic holy place.
According to signed agreements Jordan is the custodian of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
