The Hamas Movement has condemned Israel for restricting the number of Palestinian Christians allowed to enter the Church of the Holy Sepulcher to celebrate the Holy Saturday.
In a press statement on Thursday the Movement labeled the Israeli restrictions as a violation of the Palestinian Christians’ right to freedom of worship.
The Movement underlined that such practices constitute part of the Israeli racist campaigns launched against the Palestinian Islamic and Christian holy sites.
It called on the international community to act urgently in order to stop the attacks committed by the Israeli occupation and Jewish settlers against the Palestinian sanctities in Jerusalem and all over the occupied territories.
According to Jerusalemite sources only 1800 are allowed to enter the Church of the Holy Sepulcher while thousands of worshippers are deprived of celebrating the Holy Saturday inside the church.
