Israeli far-right security minister Itamar Ben Gvir recently issued an amendment to the law on the early release of Palestinian prisoners as part of a policy he adopted recently aimed at imposing restrictions in Israeli jails.
This is part of Ben-Gvir’s efforts to crack down on what he calls Palestinian convicts in Israeli prisons who in the past were eligible for early release due to a lack of space to house them in jails according to Maariv newspaper.
&ldquoI will continue to do everything to stop the favorable conditions that the prisoners have received so far&rdquo Ben Gvir said in recent press remarks.
