Hamas hails Palestinian prisoners for achieving their demands

Saturday 19-August-2023

The Hamas Movement has hailed the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons for achieving their demands after they staged a mass hunger strike.

In a press statement on Friday evening Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said that responding to the Palestinian prisoners&rsquo demands proves that trying to break the prisoners&rsquo determination is doomed to failure.

For his part Director of the Asra Media Office Ahmed Al-Qudra stressed that the Palestinian resistance factions are ready to participate in a comprehensive plan in support of Palestinian prisoners against any Israeli assault.

The Supreme National Emergency Committee of the National Captive Movement had announced the suspension of the mass hunger strike launched by Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli prisons adding that their rights were obtained.

The Committee underlined that the hunger strike came as a response to punitive measures imposed by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.

Last Thursday Palestinian prisoners in Negev jail announced the launch of an open-ended hunger strike in response to the violent raids on their cells.

1000 Palestinian prisoners in other prisons started their open-ended mass hunger strike in protest at the Israeli raid into Negev prison.
