Dr. Duaa Awad had passed the board exam to specialize in psychiatry just a month before the Israeli brutal aggression on Gaza had begun. During the aggression on Gaza she worked in Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital as a psychologist to treat the wounded in the emergency department.
Her friend Dr. Einas Yousef mourned her before she also was killed too. She wrote on X formerly Twitter “Duaa was kind-hearted and compassionate towards the injured she had a very calm personality and was admired by all those who dealt with her.”
“She loved coffee and chocolate and was sharing them with everyone. Her dream was to be an influencer psychiatrist as she loved Gaza indescribably” her friend added.
Martyr Einas wrote an eulogy for her friend martyr Duaa: “We were waiting for the end of our shifts to meet her and listen to the beauty of her speech and to continue our discussions on the same bench she used to sit on.”
On October 26while she was returning to her family’s home an Israeli hideous air strike hit their house burying them all under the rubble until rescuers were able to take out their bodies the next morning.
Since October 7 Israel has been waging a heinous genocide in Gaza Strip via air ground and sea attacks resulting in more than 40000 martyrs wounded and missing people.
“They Are Not Numbers” is a series that reviews part of the available stories of some Palestinian martyrs who have fallen in the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
