Save the Children organization said in a report on Tuesday evening, “Children in Gaza are being killed and maimed by Israeli forces at unprecedented rates and scale.” The organization explained that life-saving supplies throughout Gaza were either scarce or systematically denied by Israel.
It emphasized that the incursion into Rafah in southern Gaza would result in the execution of Gaza’s children. It called on countries not to ignore their individual and collective responsibility to act and protect the people of Gaza without delay.
The Israeli occupation army, supported by the United States and Europe, continues its aggression against the Gaza Strip since October 7th, with its aircraft bombing the vicinity of hospitals, buildings, towers, and the homes of Palestinian civilians, destroying them over their heads. It also prevents the entry of water, food, medicine, and fuel.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) stated that one in every six children in northern Gaza is facing severe malnutrition. The UN agency stated in a report published on Monday that the situation is very critical, especially in the northern Gaza Strip, where aid has been cut off almost completely for weeks.

The nutrition tests conducted in shelters and health centers in the area revealed that one-sixth of children under the age of two suffer from severe malnutrition. The tests also showed that about 3% of children in northern Gaza suffer from severe wasting, which poses a threat to their lives.
The UN organization warned of medical complications or death that these children would face if they do not receive proper and urgent treatment, stating that the situation is worsening. Similar tests conducted in Rafah also indicated that 5% of children under the age of two suffer from severe malnutrition.
The UNICEF emphasized the importance of providing humanitarian aid to the affected population and the need to prevent a new attack on Rafah.
In the same context, it pointed out that about 90% of children under the age of five in Gaza are affected by at least one infectious disease, and 70% of children suffered from diarrhea in the past two weeks, a 23-fold increase compared to 2022.
UNICEF, Save the Children organization, the World Health Organization, and the World Food Program called for the urgent and sustainable provision of humanitarian aid and ensuring its access to all parts of the Gaza Strip.
The continuous Israeli aggression against Gaza has led to the death of 29,195 citizens, mostly women and children, and the injury of 69,170 others, in addition to the displacement of more than 85% of the Gaza population, about 1.9 million people, according to the local authorities and international organizations.
