Dissolving bodies and martyrs without remains: The Israeli brutality in Gaza

Amid mounting crises for the Israeli occupation—including a crushing defeat in Lebanon, continued setbacks in Gaza, and the International Criminal Court issuing arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Army Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of crimes against humanity—Israel finds itself cornered. Adding to its woes is the global shift in public opinion against the Israeli regime. In response, Israel escalates its savagery against Gaza’s civilian population.

Israel vents its fury through relentless bombing campaigns that claim dozens of lives daily in Gaza. This isn’t just about the staggering death tolls; the brutality has reached new heights with the use of internationally banned weapons. These weapons incinerate bodies to the point of complete evaporation.

Thousands of Palestinians have been killed by mysterious bombs that dissolve bodies. These bombs generate extreme heat upon detonation, reducing targeted victims to microscopic particles that disperse into the air and soil.

Dr. Munir Al-Bursh, the Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, stated that Israeli forces are deploying weapons “of unknown nature” in northern Gaza, which cause bodies to evaporate. The Civil Defense in Gaza confirmed multiple instances of such weapons being used over recent months, resulting in the disintegration of thousands of bodies.

Al-Bursh noted that entire families have disappeared under the rubble, with rescue teams unable to retrieve any remains due to the devastating effects of these weapons. He described the use of highly explosive bombs with “terrifying” sounds that vaporize individuals even at a distance of 200–300 meters.

In response, Hamas has called for an international investigation into Israel’s use of banned weapons in northern Gaza. In a statement, Hamas emphasized, “The harrowing testimonies of civilians and doctors in northern Gaza, coupled with reports of weapons that evaporate bodies, strongly suggest Israel’s use of internationally banned weapons during its ongoing 53-day campaign of mass extermination.”

Hamas urged the international community and the United Nations to form a commission to investigate the munitions used by Israeli forces and expose the scale of war crimes being committed against defenseless civilians. The group highlighted that the ongoing assault on northern Gaza has resulted in nearly 3,000 martyrs and over 10,000 injuries, most of them women and children.

This systematic brutality is not an isolated occurrence but rather a consistent policy embedded in the Israeli military’s approach to conflict. For decades, similar atrocities have been documented, whether in Gaza, Lebanon, or other theaters of Israeli aggression.

In August, Gaza’s Civil Defense reported that the bodies of 1,760 martyrs had been vaporized by banned weapons, leaving no trace for official records. In April, Palestinian doctors in Gaza noted an alarming increase in cases involving injuries and fatalities caused by extreme heat and chemical burns from unconventional weapons. Medical teams reported that they were encountering injuries unlike anything seen before, with the cause linked to Israel’s use of non-traditional missiles.

Israel’s use of internationally banned weapons is not new. During its 2008–2009 assault on Gaza, countless bodies were burned or mutilated, indicating the use of unconventional arms. White phosphorus bombs, in particular, have been a hallmark of Israeli military campaigns. These incendiary weapons generate intense heat, reaching temperatures of 1,000°C, and cause catastrophic injuries.

A report by Amnesty International, dated October 15, 2023, confirmed that Israeli military units operating in Gaza were equipped with white phosphorus artillery shells. By November 2023, the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor documented over 1,000 artillery strikes on densely populated areas, many involving white phosphorus. On November 15, in just 40 minutes, a single residential area in Beit Lahia was bombarded with over 300 phosphorus shells.

The Euro-Medi Monitor called for an international investigation into Israel’s use of banned weapons, including thermobaric bombs. These devices cause massive explosions that release extreme heat and pressure, devastating wide areas. Unlike conventional explosives, thermobaric weapons disperse a fuel cloud before ignition, creating a fireball with temperatures exceeding 3,000°C.

Backed by unwavering U.S. military and political support, Israel continues its campaign of annihilation in Gaza. Despite international outcry, Arab governments remain complicit through silence or even active political and economic collaboration. This tacit approval enables Israel to perpetuate its barbaric tactics with impunity, leaving Gaza’s people to face unimaginable horrors alone.
