The Palestinian prisoners in Negev jail decided to take protest steps to demand the Israeli prison service (IPS) to return their fellow prisoners to the jail after transferring them to other detention facilities recently.
In a brief statement on Monday the Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs said that the Captive Movement’s regulatory committee decided to shut down the prisoners’ sections and suspend all the daily activities in Negev jail in order to pressure the IPS to bring back the detainees who were transferred from the jail.
Recently the IPS started to transfer dozens of Palestinian prisoners from different jails to other detention facilities in order to impose more restrictions on them and increase the suffering of their families who will have to travel long distances to visit them in jails.
