The Israeli prison service (IPS) transferred on Monday 25 Palestinian prisoners from Ramon jail to Gilboa jail as part of the frenzied transfer campaign that was launched recently by far-right security minister Itamar Ben Gvir.
According to the Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs the IPS has transferred 220 prisoners from several jails including Hadarim Megiddo and Ramon since January 8.
The Palestinian Prisoner Society for its part said that the new transfer of prisoners is part of a large-scale operation aimed at transferring about 2000 prisoners to different jails especially to the new sections in Nafha Ofer and Gilboa prison.
