Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Saturday fired live bullets at a number of Palestinian journalists near the entrance of Beita village south of the West Bank city of Nablus.
Palestinian journalist Wahhaj Muflih told WAFA news agency that the IOF soldiers fired live bullets at him and his colleague Mohammad Samarin while they were preparing to cover the Israeli blocking of the entrance of the village.
“The Israeli soldiers fired live bullets at us although we were wearing our press vests” Muflih underlined adding that the soldiers fired tear gas bombs at the Palestinian youths.
The IOF has been setting up mound blocks at the entrance of Beita village since Friday evening after five Palestinian citizens were injured by the live bullets of a Jewish settler at the site.
Palestinian journalists have been frequently targeted by the IOF as dozens of Israeli violations against journalists are reported monthly by the concerned institutions.
