The Hamas Movement has applauded the Palestinian youths who confronted the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) during the military raid in Aqabat Jaber refugee camp in Jericho.
“We salute the resistance youths who responded heroically and valiantly to the Israeli raid and engaged in armed clashes with IOF soldiers” Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem said in press remarks on Saturday.
“The resistance action that has spread across the West Bank cities villages and camps reflects that the Palestinian people’s growing revolution will continue until they achieve their aspirations for freedom and independence” the spokesman added.
The IOF carried out on Saturday morning a violent raid on Aqabat Jabr refugee camp in southern Jericho for more than four hours with the aim of arresting wanted citizens suspected of carrying out a shooting attack on an Israeli restaurant a week ago.
During the raid the IOF destroyed parts of a house roads and poultry farms and fired live ammunition at local youths injuring 13 of them.
The IOF reportedly failed to arrest the wanted citizens but they kidnaped at least 10 others before withdrawing from the camp. Later a number of those detainees were released.
