Sheikh Ekrima Sabri head of the Higher Islamic Council in Occupied Jerusalem has affirmed his determination to continue defending the Aqsa Mosque despite the Israeli incitement campaign against him.
In press remarks on Sunday Sheikh Sabri stressed that the Israeli occupation’s arrogance and the threats made by extremist settlers against him would never weaken his position on the Aqsa Mosque.
“The incitement campaign against us was expected. It is part of systematic measures aimed at banishing us from the Aqsa Mosque” the Jerusalemite official said.
The Hebrew media including Haaretz newspaper launched on Saturday a new incitement campaign against Sheikh Sabri calling for arresting and jailing him.
For its part the Higher Islamic Council in Occupied Jerusalem held the Israeli occupation authority fully responsible for any harm coming to Sheikh Sabri calling him one of Palestine’s prominent religious leaders.
