Sheikh Ekrima Sabri the preacher of the Al-Aqsa Mosque has called for supporting the Palestinian prisoners and protecting them against Israeli violations and oppression.
In a press statement on Wednesday Sheikh Sabri called on human rights organizations to assume their responsibility and stop the oppressive Israeli practices against Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons.
“The repeated Israeli assaults against the Palestinian prisoners constitute a violation of all the human rights and conventions” Sheikh Sabri underlined stressing that escalating the Israeli punitive measures against the Palestinian prisoners reflects the Israeli sadist policies.
Palestinian prisoners in Nafha prison started their protest steps such as refusing to undergo security checks after Israel’s far-right Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir decided to impose strict measures on them.
Supreme National Emergency Committee of the National Captive Movement had announced that Palestinian prisoners would start protest steps that would culminate in an open-ended hunger strike.
