Spokesman of Hamas for Occupied Jerusalem Muhammad Hamadeh has condemned the Israeli occupation municipality for its plan to organize a marathon in Jerusalem stressing that such a plan constitutes part of the Israeli Judaization policy.
In a press statement on Thursday spokesman Hamadeh said that organizing a marathon in collaboration with other pro-settlement organizations is a desperate attempt to impose Israeli hegemony on Jerusalem.
“These plans will not change the Arab and Islamic Identity of Jerusalem” spokesman Hamadeh affirmed calling on athletes from all over the world to enhance their boycott of the Israeli occupation.
For his part member of the Hamas political bureau Maher Saleh said that organizing the marathon will prevent Palestinian worshippers from reaching Al-Aqsa Mosque as it coincides with the Friday prayer.
Thousands of Jewish settlers from all over the world will participate in the marathon organized by the Israeli municipality in Occupied Jerusalem on Friday.
Israeli police had decided to block the streets in Jerusalem from tomorrow morning until the afternoon to facilitate participation in the marathon.
