The Hamas Movement on Thursday called on the Palestinian people to escalate comprehensive resistance to confront the Israeli occupation and Jewish settlers’ attacks and to honor the sacrifices of Palestinian martyrs.
In a press statement on the anniversary of Palestinian Martyrs’ Week the Movement hailed the bravery of the Palestinian martyrs stressing that resistance is the only choice for the Palestinians to regain their legitimate rights and establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
“Assassinating Palestinian leaders will not weaken the Palestinian people’s determination to confront the Israeli occupation” the Movement underlined calling on Palestinian youths in Jerusalem and West Bank to escalate their resistance activities to foil the Israeli plans.
The Movement condemned Israel for detaining Palestinian martyrs’ bodies calling on all human rights organizations to act urgently in order to release their bodies to give them a proper burial.
It hailed all the Palestinian masses who commemorated the Palestinian Martyrs’ Week calling on the Arab and Muslim nations to voice more solidarity with the Palestinian people and embrace the Palestinian cause in recognition of the sacrifices made by the Palestinian martyrs.
In March each year Palestinian people at home and aboard mark the Palestinian Martyrs’ Week which coincides with the Israeli assassination of the Palestinian leader and Hamas co-founder Sheikh Ahmed Yassin among other leaders.
