Six months after his arrest cancer-stricken prisoner Asif ar-Rifai a 20-year-old from Kafr Ein town in Ramallah started to receive chemotherapy at Assaf Harofeh Hospital while being in chains.
According to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) prisoner Rifai is receiving treatment at Assaf Harofeh Hospital with his hands and legs being shackled.
Rifai underwent medical tests about two months ago but the results were released only two weeks ago. These results affirmed that cancer cells spread to several parts of his body including the colon intestines glands and liver and reached advanced stages.
PPS explained that before his arrest Rifai was unable to complete his treatment as it should be because of the Israeli refusal to give him a permit to enter Occupied Jerusalem for treatment and his exposure to constant persecution.
