The Hamas Movement has offered its sincerest condolences to the Pakistani and Afghani peoples and their leadership over the tragic loss of life from the earthquake that hit the countries last Tuesday.
In a brief statement on Saturday Hamas expressed its solidarity with Pakistan and Afghanistan in their ordeals and its deep sympathy with the bereaved families asking Allah Almighty to bestow His mercy upon the victims and wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded.
At least 19 people were killed and more than 200 injured after a powerful earthquake shook large parts of Pakistan and Afghanistan according to different news reports.
The 6.5-magnitude quake damaged buildings triggered landslides and sent people running into the streets.
It struck on Tuesday evening centered in a mountainous region in Afghanistan’s south-east near the border with Pakistan. Tremors from the quake were felt as far away as India.
