The Hamas Movement has welcomed the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights’ recent report on Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In a statement on Thursday Hamas spokesman Jihad Taha said that his Movement appreciates what came in the UN report which highlighted the impacts of Israel’s settlement expansion and settler violations against the Palestinians.
Hamas considered the report an important legal document that can be built on to criminalize Israel’s settlement activity calling for effective action to curb Israel’s settlement expansion and prosecute its leaders.
The Movement stressed the need to support the Palestinian people and their rights to freedom and self-determination.
