Sheikh Ekrima Sabri head of the Higher Islamic Council in Occupied Jerusalem has warned of a big Israeli scheme targeting the Aqsa Mosque ahead of the Hebrew Passover holiday.
“With the approaching Passover the occupation state is preparing for a major plot against the Aqsa Mosque in light of the ongoing threats to storm it next Wednesday and offer animal sacrifices [in its courtyards]” Sheikh Sabri said in press remarks on Saturday.
The Jerusalemite official affirmed that settler groups recently went overboard in their violations at the Aqsa Mosque and started to call for allowing Jewish settlers to enter the holy site through all its gates.
He described any attempt to offer Passover animal sacrifices at the Aqsa Mosque as serious aggression against the Islamic holy site.
