Member of Hamas’s political bureau Hisham Qasem said that the Palestinian resistance and its faithful leadership are committed to the liberation of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails.
“The Palestinian people’s commemoration of the Prisoner Day is an opportunity to remember the great sacrifices that have been made by the prisoners” Qasem said in press remarks on Monday.
The Hamas official applauded the Palestinian prisoners for standing in the face of the Israeli injustice and refusing to submit to the jailers’ repressive measures and arbitrary policies that are aimed to break their will.
He stressed that the sacrifices that were made throughout decades of conflict with the occupation state entails serious action to revive the prisoners’ issue support their just demands for liberation from Israeli jails and highlight their suffering through various Palestinian Arab and international media outlets.
April 17 marks the Palestinian Prisoner Day an annual occasion established by the Palestinian National Council in 1974 as a national tribute to honor thousands of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails and to support their legitimate right to freedom.
