Political Bureau Chairman of Hamas Movement Ismail Haneyya has extended condolences over the martyrdom of Sheikh Khader Adnan in Israeli captivity.
Haneyya lashed out at the Israeli occupation authorities for refusing to extend medical assistance to Palestinian prisoners in general and for refusing to release Sheikh Khader in particular.
The Hamas leader who was speaking over the phone with Ziyad al-Nakhala the Secretary General of the Islamic Jihad Movement on Tuesday morning heaped praise on the martyr for his courage and strength.
“Our people will continue along the path of resistance and martyrdom against occupation” Haneyya affirmed adding that “our battle with occupation will remain open” until final liberation and freedom.
The Israeli Prison Service (IPS) had announced at dawn Tuesday the martyrdom of Sheikh Adnan an Islamic Jihad leader on the 87th day of his hunger strike demanding freedom from illegal detention.
The IPS had ignored repeated calls for the release of Adnan in view of the deterioration of his health condition.
