A Palestinian citizen was shot and killed by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Saturday evening after allegedly attempting to carry out a stabbing operation to the west of Jenin.
According to Mahmoud Al-Saadi director of the Red Crescent in Jenin Ahmad Atatrah 33 was proclaimed dead after he sustained several injuries while passing through a military checkpoint southwest of Jenin.
Atatrah from Ya’bad town in Jenin governorate was seriously injured after the IOF soldiers fired live bullets at him while passing through Rihan military checkpoint according to local sources.
Israeli authorities had claimed that a Palestinian citizen attempted to stab an Israeli soldier at Rihan checkpoint near the illegal settlement of Shaked established on the lands of Tora village southwest of Jenin.
Since the beginning of 2023 Israel has killed 118 Palestinian citizens including 22 children in Jerusalem and the West Bank.
