Member of Hamas’s political bureau Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk has stressed that the 75th anniversary of the Nakba constitutes an opportunity to renew the Palestinian people’s continuous quest to defend their rights and preserve their national constants.
In a press statement on Monday Abu Marzouk said that the 75th anniversary of the Nakba comes in the aftermath of the most recent Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip adding that it coincides with the escalating resistance activities all over Palestine.
“Such incidents affirm that the Palestinian people and resistance all over the occupied territories are persistent on confronting the Israeli crimes and achieving their right of return” Abu Marzouk affirmed.
He concluded that the repeated Israeli crimes and massacres perpetrated against the Palestinian people didn’t succeed in cauterizing their consciousness adding that the new Palestinian generation is holding on to their right of return.
The Nakba resulted in the displacement of 800 thousand Palestinians destroying 531 Palestinian towns and villages and killing 15000 Palestinians in more than 70 massacres according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics.
