The Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces on Sunday attacked Palestinian citizens who participated in the reception of the Palestinian freed prisoner Suhaib Shtayyeh to the east of the West Bank city of Nablus.
A number of Palestinian citizens suffered breathing problems after the PA forces fired tear gas bombs in the vicinity of Suhaib’s home in Salem village.
Eyewitnesses reported that the PA forces set up military checkpoints at the entrance of the village and before the road leading to Suhaib’s home.
Ex-prisoner Suhaib was released today after he had spent eight months in the Israeli prison of Megiddo. He is a brother of the political prisoner Musaab who is currently held in PA prisons.
Earlier at dawn the PA forces stormed the Shtayyeh family home and savagely assaulted members of the family while they were preparing to hold the reception.
