Dozens of Jewish settlers defiled the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem on Thursday morning under tight Israeli police security measures.
The Awkaf Department in the holy city said that 185 settlers including 40 students of Jewish religious schools entered the holy site and embarked on provocative tours inside the Aqsa compound under Israeli police protection. Some of them performed Talmudic prayers at the Bab el-Rahma area it added in a press release.
Israeli police impose strict measures at the gates of the Aqsa Mosque and all roads leading to it during the settlers’ tours.
Meanwhile Jerusalemite activists called for Palestinian intensifying presence at the holy site to ward off Judaization threats.
