The Islamic Jihad Movement said that its secretary general Ziyad an-Nakhala arrived in the Egyptian capital Cairo on Saturday evening to discuss with local officials different issues of mutual interest.
In press remarks Islamic Jihad spokesman Dawoud Shehab said that Nakhala’s visit to Cairo came in response to an official Egyptian invitation he received last week.
He added that Nakhala is scheduled to meet with Abbas Kamel director of Egypt’s general intelligence to discuss a number of Palestinian issues.
Earlier on the same day a high-level delegation from the Hamas Movement led by its political bureau chief Ismail Haneyya also arrived in Cairo to meet with senior Egyptian officials.
