The committee of Palestinian administrative detainees in Israeli jails has said that it continues to make preparations for the launch of an open-ended mass hunger strike next Sunday June 18 2023.
In a statement on Sunday the committee added that hundreds of administrative detainees will participate in the hunger strike in protest at their illegal detention with no indictment or trial.
Meanwhile the Israeli prison service started attempts to foil the intended hunger strike by threatening to take a number of harsh punitive measures against the participants or giving prisoners fake promises not to renew their administrative detention.
The hunger strike aims to pressure the Israeli occupation authority to end the administrative detention policy which has escalated in recent months according to the committee.
