A resistance group in Tulkarem affiliated with al-Quds Brigades of Islamic Jihad has called for participating in a popular rally to be held on Sunday evening in front of Nur Shams refugee camp in protest at the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) security cooperation with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF).
The Tulkarem resistance group accused the PA security forces of facilitating the tasks and raids that are carried out by the IOF in the province.
“You have seen the enormity of the vicious aggression that was launched by the enemy army against Tulkarem City especially in Nur Shams camp which involved destruction besiegement and attempts to inflict as many casualties as possible and commit massacres among the civilians during the past few months” the group said in a statement on Sunday.
“Today we had a stab in the back from the PA security services which try to facilitate the occupation forces’ tasks in one way or another. At 7 o’clock in the morning a large number of PA forces removed and destroyed barriers scattered around the camp which our fighters had deployed to obstruct any movement or incursion by the occupation forces. They also opened fire directly at local residents from the camp” the group explained.
“We say it again that what makes us feel deeply hurt is the fact that we only know that the occupation forces are about to raid our cities and camps when the PA armored vehicles withdraw to their headquarters” the group added.
A state of tension has been running high in Nur Shams camp east of Tulkarem since today morning when a large number of PA security forces stormed the outskirts of the camp and embarked on removing and seizing road barriers used by resistance fighters to thwart IOF raids.
