Palestinian prisoners shut down their prisons’ sections partially on Tuesday in protest at the Israeli prison service’s (IPS) refusal to respond to their demands regarding patients and food.
According to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) the prisoners closed the sections to protest the Ramla prison administration’s failure to respond to the needs of the patients in its infirmary especially with regard to prisoner Walid Daqqa who has been deprived of seeing his family for nearly a month.
The prisoners also accuse the IPS of depriving them of having many types of food.
PPS said that when the prisoners close their sections in Israeli jails they start to take disobedience steps that involve freezing all or some aspects of their daily life in prison.
There are 15 sick prisoners in the Ramla prison’s infirmary including two female detainees.
