The acting speaker of the Palestinian legislative council Ahmed Bahar has condemned Palestinian Authority security services for escalating their arrest campaigns in the West Bank.
In a press statement on Monday Bahar said that political arrest campaigns launched by the PA against Palestinian ex-prisoners and resistance fighters only serve the interest of the Israeli occupation.
Bahar labeled the policy of political arrest as a major crime and a serious violation adding that such a policy does not help achieve national unity.
He called on the PA to stop the policy of political arrest to provide a positive atmosphere for the meeting of Palestinian factions’ Secretaries General which is set to be held in Cairo.
