The Defense for Children International Movement has said that three Palestinian minors have lost their eyes due to Israeli occupation forces (IOF) deliberate targeting since the beginning of 2023.
The Movement underlined that the Palestinian child Khalid Malalha 5 lost his left eye after the IOF fired live bullets at him near the entrance of Bizzariya village to the northwest of the West Bank city of Nablus on the 20th of June.
&ldquoLast April Omar Assi 16 lost his right eye after IOF soldiers fired a stun grenade at him during a military raid into Qarawat Bani Hassan town to the west of the West Bank city of Salfit&rdquo the Movement said adding that his left eye was also injured.
The Movement pointed out that Mahmoud Farahati 16 was injured in the right eye during an Israeli military raid into the center of the West Bank city of Jenin last March adding that Farahati also lost his ability to move after he was injured by a shrapnel in the brainstem.
It stressed that the Israeli deliberate targeting of Palestinian children amounts to a war crime adding that Israel enjoys impunity because of a lack of international political will to impose accountability on it.
