The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the Israeli occupation government for allowing its far-right security minister Itamar Ben and settler groups to defile the Aqsa Mosque’s courtyards on Wednesday.
In a statement the foreign ministry said that such Israeli practices at the Aqsa Mosque are considered a flagrant violation of the international law and acts of provocation against the Muslim nation.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) the foreign ministry held the Israeli government fully responsible for the consequences of its ongoing violations at the Aqsa Mosque.
The ministry called on the international community to necessarily assume its responsibilities in this regard and work on ending Israel’s provocations at the Aqsa Mosque protecting the Palestinian citizens in the occupied territories and making serious efforts to end the conflict.
For its part the Jordan Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced Ben-Gvir’s visit an hour after it took place. The ministry warned the Israeli government against &ldquothe dangerous consequences of allowing extremists to enter the Aqsa Mosque and carry out provocations.&rdquo
Spokesman for the ministry Sinan Majali said in a statement that the desecration of the Aqsa Mosque by Ben Gvir and other Jewish extremists was provocative and a violation of the international law and the historical and legal status quo of the holy sites in Jerusalem.
Spokesman Majali stressed that Israel has no sovereignty over Occupied Jerusalem warning of its persistence in taking unilateral measures and committing violations in the holy city.
The spokesman underlined that &ldquothe Aqsa Mosque with its entire 144 dunums of land belongs exclusively to the Muslim nation&rdquo adding that &ldquoJordan’s Jerusalem Awqaf and Aqsa Mosque Affairs Administration has exclusive jurisdiction over the management of the Aqsa Mosque and the regulation of entry to the site in accordance with the international law and the status quo in the holy city.&rdquo
