Member of Hamas’s political bureau Mousa Abu Marzouk has warned that the recent desecration of the Aqsa Mosque by hundreds of Jewish settlers including government officials and Knesset members reflected Israeli intents to Judaize the Islamic holy site.
In a statement on Wednesday Abu Marzouk urged the Palestinian citizens in Jerusalem and 1948 occupied Palestine to march en masse to the Aqsa Mosque to confirm its Islamic identity and protect it against any Israeli aggression or any attempt to divide it.
The Hamas official said that the Israeli occupation authority seeks to Judaize the Aqsa Mosque through harassing and persecuting Muslim worshipers and targeting its eastern area in order to turn it into a synagogue for Jewish settlers.
He also warned of Israeli plans to build dozens of parks on seized lands in Jerusalem and its villages while continuing to displace Jerusalemite families and demolish their homes as part of its Judaization efforts in the holy city.
