Mahmoud Abbas president of the Palestinian Authority has called for the formation of a follow-up committee from the participants of the meeting of Palestinian factions&rsquo secretaries general to complete the dialogue on various issues discussed in the meeting.
In his final statement at the Palestinian factions&rsquo secretaries general meeting held in Egypt on Sunday Abbas asked the committee to start working immediately to accomplish its mission and to submit the agreements or recommendations it reaches.
Abbas thanked Egyptian president Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi for hosting this meeting and for his efforts that aim at achieving Palestinian national unity.
Earlier during the meeting Abbas said that peaceful resistance is the best way to confront the Israeli occupation calling on all the Palestinian factions to adopt peaceful resistance.
Abbas also emphasized that the Palestine Liberation Organization is the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people.
