Two Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons declared an open-ended hunger strike in protest against their transfer to the criminal prisoners section rights sources revealed on Thursday.
The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) affirmed that the two female prisoners Ataf Jaradat and Fatima Shaheen are on hunger strike in protest against their arbitrary transfer to the criminal prisoners section which includes Israeli criminal prisoners held for crimes related to murder and drugs.
The two prisoners were brutally beaten during their transfer the PPS added.
Palestinian prisoner Fatima Shaheen already suffers from serious injuries after being shot by Israeli gunfire during her arrest.
Palestinian female prisoners had earlier declared a set of protest steps in solidarity with Jaradat and Shaheen.
There are currently 5000 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails including 31 female prisoners.
