Deputy Secretary General of the Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad Hisham Abu Mahfouz on Thursday called for maintaining the ceasefire declared in Ein al-Hilweh refugee camp in southern Lebanon.
Abu Mahfouz stressed the importance of stopping the armed clashes that led to dozens of casualties among the refugees while thousands were displaced.
&ldquoAll those involved in the events in the camp should be brought to account&rdquo Abu Mahfouz underlined warning of suspicious schemes that aim at eliminating the Palestinian existence in Lebanon.
Abu Mahfouz extended thanks to all the parties who intervened positively to stop the ongoing armed clashes and help bring the situation back to normal in the camp.
He called for exerting concerted efforts to provide Palestinian refugees with urgent assistance announcing that the Popular Conference is launching an urgent relief campaign to support the Palestinian refugees in the camp.
