An Israeli court on Monday rejected the early release of the cancer-stricken Palestinian prisoner Walid Daqqa.
In a press statement Daqqa’s wife said that the decision came without holding a hearing of the Israeli early release committee pointing out that his family will submit a petition against the court’s decision.
For its part the Ministry of Detainees Affairs said that rejecting the early release of prisoner Daqqa comes as part of executing the orders of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir.
Prisoner Daqqa 60 has been detained for 38 years. A life imprisonment sentence had been issued against him later reduced to 39 years.
He suffers from spinal cancer a rare condition in addition to problems in the lungs and kidneys and several health conditions.
